I originally wrote this story as a reminder that a miracle begins with faith—believing a prayer will be answered.
Today, that theme has come to mirror real life. My sweet 8-month-old granddaughter has spent six of her short eight-month life in the hospital, waiting for a new heart.

Baby Estelle
Born with a severe heart defect shortly after birth, baby Estelle has spent most of her young life in the hospital fighting for survival. Her heartbreaking journey was recently featured by People Magazine after she was once again deemed ineligible for a life-saving heart transplant due to ongoing complications.
After suffering cardiac arrest in December 2025, Estelle was placed on life support while continuing to wait for a miracle. Despite the difficult road ahead, her family continues to hold on to faith, hope, and the belief that miracles are still possible.

short months in the hospital waiting for a heart transplant—a heart that never came.
⭐Yet despite her brief life, Estelle inspired everyone around her: family, friends, and even the hospital staff who cared for her so faithfully throughout her stay in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). In fact, 15 of the staff--both doctors and nurses--travelled the hour-and-a-half to attend her memorial service.
